Welcome to the Loooongest Candidate Application
A ten-chapter journey for the freelancers, studios and contractors who would rather show character than tick boxes. Bring coffee. Bring honesty.
The Manifesto
Three beliefs, before you begin.
A form, disguised as a story.
Most applications ask what you've done. Ours asks who you are. Ten chapters, told in order, each a little more revealing than the last. By the end we'll know how you think, not just what you've shipped.
Work speaks. Then you speak for the work.
Portfolios are team photos. We ask what exactly you did, who held the other brushes, and what happened after launch. Dashboards and case-study PDFs count: polish is optional, proof is not.
Alone is a skill. Together is a superpower.
Cohorts.team pairs people who've never met into teams that ship. So we ask how you take feedback, what you do with a doomed deadline, and whether strangers scare you. Answer honestly. We can tell.
A Letter to the World
Written in the open · July 2026
Dear reader,
e're building Cohorts.team because the marketplaces are rigged. Platform fees, thirty-percent commissions, subscriptions just to exist, job ads that cost more than the job. Somewhere along the way, the industry decided that the people doing the work should pay for the privilege of being seen doing it. We would like to respectfully disagree.
This is a community-first platform for people who do great work. Freelancers, studios, boutique agencies, contractors: no subscription to join, no fee to showcase your work, no tollbooth between you and the people who need you. And for the agencies and brands on the other side: no paying to post, no eye-watering commissions. Fair is not a feature here. Fair is the point.
Which brings us to the form. Yes, it is long. Deliberately so. We want to understand you for you: not your keywords, not your headline, not a two-minute skim of your portfolio. We ask that you be as authentic with us as we are being with you in this letter. The work we make together should genuinely impact the person who trusted us with the project, and that begins with actually knowing one another.
Three promises. Hold us to them.
-
I
No boosted content. No ads. The feed is earned, never bought.
-
II
Your work is the hero of your profile, not your budget, not your follower count.
-
III
Like-minded people and fair pricing on every project. Always.
Who is this for? Anyone and everyone in the marketing space. Come to get inspired, post your work, and collaborate with people as talented as you are. And the buyers, marketing agencies and brands, get something rarer: teams built to genuinely move their work forward.
This is real professional networking. The end of bloat and noise. Great work, great people, a great place to work. Creating more, for less.
Yours fairly,
Cohorts.team
The Journey
Ten chapters. One story: yours.
The final page awaits
Ready when you are.
The Longest Candidate Application takes about twenty minutes. It is read by humans. All of it, every word. If the story fits, we write back.
The journey, in six frames
A talented hand, waiting for the right work.
The work arrives, and it is good.
Then the work arrives all at once.
Something is missing, and it has a face.
There they are. People like him.
He reaches out. They reach back.
